Door’s unlocked, [ Jayce calls out at the sound of the knock. Even when he invites people to the workshop, he tends to lose track of time and ends up stuck elbows deep in something, which is exactly the state he’s in at the moment. ] Sorry, I had my hands full. The runes are uh… jumpy.
[ To say the least, but they’re stabilized again and he’s focusing back on the greenhouse. As he flips through his blueprints, Jayce tries to fill the silence with small talk, though it’s clear he’s not great at it. ] Do you have a lot of experience with plants?

Oh, it's quite all right. I'm not much of a tinkerer, but I certainly understand the feeling. [Says the girl who has no problem lugging bags of potting soil wherever she needs them.]
Some. For the last several months before I arrived here, I was taking care of my school's planters, and growing things on the rooftop.
Sometimes taking things apart helps me think, too. [ As terrible as that had been for his mother growing up, half of the house turned into all the little pieces while she waited for him to put it all back together. ]
That sounds nice. All I know I learned from my mother. [ Jayce pulls out a few sheets, laying them across the worktop. ] This is what I'm working with. I have a few designs to keep the air flow, and the question marks are... for the lights.
I could potentially ask Cadeuceus-san if he'd be willing to make some of the jar lights for inside the greenhouse. As long as we provide the jars or bottles for it, I don't see him saying no. [Several of them are united in keeping the gardens going until this nonsense with the sun is sorted out, and Haru's glad for it. (And that, while she wasn't quite herself, she still wanted to keep the plants alive.)]
We can both ask. He can't say no to both of us. [ Jayce laughs. ] I could see if I have any jars laying around. Or I could get into glass blowing. How hard can it be? [ Famous last words, honestly. ]
Much harder than it looks, probably. Besides, you'd need somewhere to heat the glass, and somewhere to let it cool slowly so it doesn't crack. [The workshop's a nice little setup, Haru will admit, but it may not be cut out for that kind of expansion.]
Probably. [ Jayce doesn't seem all that deterred, though he's smart enough to know they don't really have time for him to build the parts he'd need or for him to figure how how to actually blow glass. ] Maybe later.
I should have some jars laying around though. [ Somewhere. The workshop is organized chaos at best. ] Maybe.
[ As he's rooting around in one of the cabinets: ] Do you know how he's making the lights?
Maybe he can teach us. Do you know anything about magic? [ Jayce sets a couple of jars on the worktop and moves to another drawer. ] I've been researching it all my life.
It wasn't where I was from either. I wanted to try to bring magic to the people of my home. It... didn't go the way I dreamed it would. [ Jayce stills for a second, and then resumes poking around his place for jars as a distraction. ]
I agree. [ Because Jayce is still a dreamer, even after everything. ] I know I'd do it all again, if given the chance. Just maybe a little differently next time.
